We love trying new places and new things, Hello Joburgers – and are excited to share with you our top 5 brand new eateries in our city of Joburg. They have just opened up, and are most certainly worth a pop in!
Rockets – Bryanston
Just opened at the beginning of this month, Rockets Bryanston covers 4 floors, yes you heard us right, 4 floors of dining experiences waiting to be enjoyed.
The rooftop deck garden boasts one of the most stunning views we have ever seen, their is a private dining room perfect for more intimate gatherings, Lolita’s Bar and Lounge for just about any occasion you can imagine, a Ladies Champagne Lounge and a Gent’s Cognac Lounge.
Their menu is an eclectic mix of cosmopolitan style white and red meats, vegetarian dishes, inventive salads, bruschettas, prego rolls, daily specials, and mouth-watering desserts.
La Rosa Mexican Grille and Tequileria
Newly opened La Rosa is checking all the boxes. Think traditional Mexican Street food with a twist – Nacho’s of course feature, as do Quesadillas, Taco’s and Fajita’s, Enchilada’s and – all with a variety of topping options.
Not only is the food spicy – but they offer an extensive cocktail and tequila menu – everything from El Jimador to Kah are available, as well as their own home brewed craft tequila’s in a variety of flavours
They are situated in The Honeydew Shopping Centre in Weltevreden Park – and are certainly worth the drive, that’s for sure!
Wishbone Café and Bistro Bar
Located in the newly opened 11 Alice Lane in Sandton, this hidden gem that will become your soon-to-be favourite restaurant, we promise.
Beautifully decorated with loads of glass and an exposed copper piping bar, and a menu that covers a little bit of everything, be it from breakfast to lunch and dinner.
Do make sure to try the muesli breakfast trifle and apple and maple flapjacks if you are having a morning breakfast meeting, and the gourmet burgers as well as the curry are always a hit – and the Confit duck leg and Coq au Vin, are their highly recommended signature dishes.
During the week you can get a three course express lunch for those in a rush to get back to the office – and on the weekend, dine at your leisure with a decadent four course brunch and bubbly special – cheers!
There is also a weekday 3-course express lunch meal (sushi, soup and salad, all served simultaneously) and a decadent 4-course weekend brunch and bubbly special.
Milk & Honey Bar
Recently opened in Montecasino, Milk & Honey boasts a unique French flaire twist on it’s menu. Think light wood and lots of natural light pouring in through the open balcony doors. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, weekends find live DJ’s on the decks and a fun buzz.
Chef Justine has created a menu that has a little something different – Duck and Cherry Pot Pie is a hit – as are the Arancini balls and the burgers.
Unique cocktails from the aptly named Milk and Honey, through to the Coffee Jam and The Teaspot (cocktails in a tea pot – what’s not to love?)
Located on 3rd Avenue in Parktown North, just down from the Foundry, lies the absolutely beautifully appointed la Bouqueria. They have just opened their glass doors, and this all day eatery are set to become the “in-spot” for dinners and lunches.
Light wood finishes, large windows and The menu is a Spainish fusion creation – they have literally taken their influences from a variety of food markets around the world. With a nod to traditional styles of cooking on live-fires and in wood ovens, we aim to bring you a real food experience.
